The Delwa-Star P Thermotherapy device itself is controlled by a microprocessor, which heats a temperature-adjustable thermal element sealed in a rectal probe. The rectal probe in the shape of an elongated suppository is introduced to the anal canal and set at a temperature, which is ideal and comfortable for the patient (37°C - 43°C).
The probe radiates pulsing heat waves for 20 minutes. The treatment of daily therapy, typically lasts 20-40 minutes and encourages rapid healing action with improvement in the affected enlarged gland in order to ease the pain and discomfort and swelling associated with hyperplasia, chronic prostatis and other prostatic conditions.
When the session is completed the machine switches itself off. The device can be set to a comfortable temperature, up to a maximum of 45°C and can be recharged by plugging it into the mains power. The device cannot be recharged while it is in use. This is to prevent electric shock.
